Does Go Ahead Tours offer travel protection?
Yes. We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase a protection plan through us to cover them while traveling since most primary travel protection companies do not cover you while traveling abroad. Go Ahead travelers are able to choose from several travel protection options offered by Efekta Insurance International, Ltd. The most comprehensive plan is the TravelSafe GOLD with Flight Cancellation Protection which includes:
- Basic Trip Cancellation/Interruption Coverage
- Medical & Accident Protection
- Baggage, Property & Delay Protection
- Flight Cancellation Protection

Additionally, ask one of our tour consultants about our AnyTime Protection Plan, an added benefit you receive at no additional cost when you purchase either the TravelSafe Plus or the TravelSafe GOLD Plan within two weeks of making your reservation. This added level of protection allows you to cancel your tour FOR ANY REASON up to 24 hours prior to the departure of your initial flight and your investment will still be protected in the form of a credit voucher with Go Ahead Tours for a future trip.
Will I receive a travel protection card?
You will not receive a travel protection card. However, if you purchase any of the policies through Go Ahead Tours, your Tour Director and our office personnel will have documentation indicating that you are covered. You can also see the travel protection added on your on-line account or on your invoice.
Am I required to purchase the TravelSafe Plan?
You are not required to purchase travel protection, but we do highly recommend this for all travelers.
When should I pay for my TravelSafe Plan?
We recommend you pay for your TravelSafe Plan when you make your tour reservation. The travel protection isn’t active until you pay for it AND this will also ensure that you receive the benefits of the AnyTime Protection Plan free of charge!
Does the travel protection cover me pre- or post-tour when I am traveling on my own?
The travel protection does not cover you when you are traveling on your own pre- or post-tour. However, you can purchase supplemental extended travel protection at the rate of $12 per person per day up to a maximum of 15 days.
What is the “recommended travel protection” on my invoice?
This is the TravelSafe Plus Plan which includes Medical & Accident Protection, Baggage, Property & Delay Protection and Trip Cancellation/Interruption Coverage. For just $60 more, you can purchase our most comprehensive policy, the TravelSafe Gold with Flight Cancellation Protection Plan, which provides coverage if your flight to tour is canceled for reasons beyond your control. It covers up to $1,000 towards the cost of a new flight to get you to your tour or for necessary personal expenses associated with the cancellation of your flight such as a hotel room and meals.
Please note: Since this is a recommended item on your invoice, in order to activate coverage for this policy you need to either log in to your on-line account or call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-597-0350 Mon-Fri 9am-5:30pm, EST and Sat 9am-5pm, EST to add the travel protection plan to your account and make the payment. Payment is required at the time of purchase.
