Budapest
Due to the topography surrounding Budapest, the weather greatly varies between seasons. Winter Decembers begin with cloudy, damp days. The winter’s never too long and is scattered with a few sunny days throughout. Summer weather is the opposite. Warm days begin in April. The days are long and there is on average 10 hours of sun a day. Expect sunny, warm days with a good dose of humidity until September. Rain is consistent the entire year, with an average of 64 cm of annual rainfall. In April expect frequent spring showers. For the most consistent weather, with the best days to explore the city, traveling in the summer is recommended.
Vienna
The climate in Vienna is moderate. Vienna’s summers usually range from 60 F to 76 F (15 C–25 C). On average, the city sees from seven to nine days of rain a month in the spring and summer. Thunderstorms can come without warning, but they are not prolonged. While the winters are chilly, there are no extreme fluctuations in temperature. The average temperature in January is 23 F–34 F (-4 C–1 C). Less than nine days of snow falls each month throughout the winter. Like most European countries, the tourist season is at the end of the summer. To avoid crowds, tour Vienna in the spring and autumn.
Prague
The weather in Prague is not static during any of the seasons. Be prepared for sun and rain in the summer and clouds with a chance of snow in the winter. It’s common for the temperature in the summer to be 73 F–84 F. January is the coldest month in Prague—only 50 hours of sunshine the whole month. The majority of winter snowfall occurs in the areas outside of the city. The average temperature in the winter fluctuates from 12 F to 32 F.
