Spain Weather
The north is consistently rainy in the winter with snow in the Pyrenees. During the summer, anywhere south of Madrid is extremely hot. During the fall and spring temperatures are very pleasant.
Madrid
The climate of Madrid is dry, warm and pleasant. It's high altitude and proximity to mountains causes some wide variations in winter and summer temperatures. In summer the heat at midday can be intense, with pleasantly cool evenings. Winters, by contrast, bring temperatures dropping to just below freezing. Rain in Madrid is a rarity, with a short rainy season in late October and some showers in spring.
Seville
Seville has a mild Mediterranean climate, with warm, sunny summers and cool, mild, winters. The hottest months are July and August, with temperatures sometimes reaching a high of 99°F (37°C). Temperatures are, however, sometimes modified by cool sea breezes - a relief at the height of summer. Winter tends to have mixed sun and cloud and January is the coldest month. Autumn and winter are the wettest months, and September and October often bring heavy showers or thunderstorms. These are, however, usually followed by sunny periods. Spring is perhaps the best time to travel to Seville as temperatures are more moderate, though still warm.
Costa del sol
One of the most touted facts about the Costa del Sol (sol meaning sun) is its mild weather. Indeed it is very well known for it, making the Costa del Sol an ideal destination for holiday makers throughout summer and winter months. The coastline here is sheltered by hills and high mountains allowing for a kind of micro climate. This limits rainfall, and as a result the region enjoys sunshine for in excess of 320 days per year.
The sun is at its hottest during the summer months, with temperatures rarely falling below 30°C (86°F). Whereas the typically very mild winters, boast daily highs of around 20°C (64°F). At night the low rarely falls below 10°C.
Granada
Sunny almost every day from June to September. Virtually no rain. July and August still hot. Burning power of the sun is deceptive in highlands. Daily highs up to 30C and nightly lows 8C. Shirtsleeve weather in the days perhaps a sweater in the evenings.
Mixture of beautiful clear, sunny winter days with overcast but cool days. Evenings are noticeably much colder after sunset. First rains are late September or early October, and can be heavy. They rarely last more than a day or two. Daily highs about 20C and nightly lows down to freezing. Pullover or jacket in the day, warm coat in the evening.
Valencia
From the point of view of climate, the broad coastal section is a spring paradise with an annual mean temperature above 17ºC, relative humidity of around 70% and little over 2,600 hours of sunshine per year and little rainfall. These temperatures speak for themselves as regards hot summers and mild winters in the coastal regions, which are undoubtedly influenced by the sea water. The mean temperatures inland on the other hand vary from 8 to 10ºC and from 11 to 15ºC, depending on the places, geographical features and distance from the sea, with dry winters, frost and occasionally snow.
Barcelona
Barcelona enjoys a wonderful climate with hot summers and cool winters. The ideal months to visit the city, the Costa Brava, and the nearby resorts of Sitiges and Vilanova are May, June and September, when visitors can expect good weather. In August, despite the shade in the tree-lined boulevards, locals desert Barcelona for the coastal resorts to escape the heat. January is the coldest month, with top temperatures averaging 55°F (13°C), while August is the hottest, with an average high of 82°F (29°C).
