In each city, a guided tour will give you the lay of the land so that you can make the most of your ample free time. 

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Overnight Flight

Your trip begins with a regularly scheduled overnight flight to London aboard an internationally recognized airline.

Day 2 - London

Welcome to London! After clearing customs and collecting your bags, look for the Hotel by Bus Transfer desk. They will be providing your transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or begin acquainting yourself with London. At an included dinner this evening, meet your fellow travelers.

Day 3 - London

This morning, a local guide leads comprehensive sightseeing of London. Highlights of the panoramic tour include views of Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey (setting for royal coronations, weddings and funerals), Hyde Park, the Big Ben clocktower, the Houses of Parliament and a stop outside St. James’s Palace, where you might glimpse the ceremonial Changing of the Guard (seasonal). After your sightseeing tour, join an optional excursion to Windsor Castle, the centuries-old retreat of Britain’s Royal Family.

Led by a Blue Badge Guide, you’ll travel to Windsor for a guided visit to the world’s largest and longest-inhabited castle. Founded by William the Conqueror in 1070, Windsor has been the British Royal Family’s preferred retreat for the past 900 years. Step inside the State Apartments and St. George’s Chapel (closed Sundays), where the Knights of the Garter ceremony takes place. View the exhibit of royal treasures on display within the castle. You’ll then have time to stroll through the town of Windsor and have a look at Eton College, a prestigious prep school attended by Princes William and Harry. Please note: Windsor Castle is occasionally closed when in use by the Royal Family; a visit to Henry VIII’s Hampton Court will be substituted when necessary.

Day 4 - London

Spend the day at your leisure in London. Popular choices include watching the street performers (“buskers”) of Covent Garden marketplace, buying discounted same-day tickets to a West End play or studying the many treasures housed at the British Museum, including the Rosetta Stone and the Elgin Marbles. You might choose to join an optional tour of St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. Acquaint yourself this evening with one of London’s newest landmarks on an optional London Eye excursion, which also includes a pub dinner.

On a tour of London’s famed churches, visit St. Paul’s Cathedral, globally renowned for its magnificent dome and glittering mosaics. While touring St. Paul’s Cathedral, explore the beautiful Whispering Gallery and discover its outstanding acoustics. Continue on to Westminster Abbey, located near the Houses of Parliament. Since 1066, every royal coronation, with the exception of Edward V and Edward VIII, has taken place at Westminster Abbey. The abbey also serves as the burial ground for luminaries including Charles Darwin and Sir Isaac Newton. Please note: This excursion does not run on Sundays.

London Eye & Pub Dinner $119 CAD

London Eye & Pub Dinner

Glide through the London sky on the London Eyel. The world’s tallest observation wheel, the London Eye lifts its passengers 450 feet above the River Thames for a 30-minute ride in an enclosed gondola. In clear weather, you can see for 25 miles around the city center. Afterward, enjoy a mini-tour of London’s West End before venturing to a local pub for dinner. Please note: The day of the week for this excursion is subject to change.

Day 5 - Paris

This morning, transfer to St. Pancras. Here, you’ll board the Eurostar, Europe’s quarter-mile-long high-speed train that whisks passengers below the English Channel and resurfaces in France. Relax aboard comfortable, state-of-the-art transportation, arriving at Gare du Nord in Paris just three hours later. After settling into your hotel, the rest of your day is free before this evening’s included dinner.

Day 6 - Paris

An expert local guide introduces you to the historical and cultural landmarks of the City of Light on this morning’s sightseeing tour. Drive down the sycamore-lined Champs-Élysées, one of the world’s most celebrated avenues. You’ll pass the Eiffel Tower, built for the 1889 World’s Fair. See Place de la Concorde, where the guillotine once stood. Absorb the culture of the Opera district. You’ll also view the legendary Notre-Dame Cathedral, which stands on an island in the Seine. This afternoon, you might wish to join an optional excursion to the glittering Palace of Versailles, where Louis XIV created the most lavish court Europe has ever known.

The reign of Louis XIV, known as the “Sun King,” set new standards for decadence among the crowned heads of Europe. It took 50 years and 35,000 workers to turn Versailles, once a small hunting lodge, into the most magnificent château in all of France and the envy of royalty worldwide. On this excursion, you will see the palace in all its glory. Tour the State Apartments and the glittering Hall of Mirrors. Then stroll through the lavish gardens with their fine statuary, splendid fountains and colorful flowerbeds. Please note: This excursion requires advanced reservation and must be booked by 45 days prior to departure.

Day 7 - Paris

Today is free for you to take in all the splendor of Paris at your leisure. You might choose to visit the Louvre or shop in Galeries Lafayette. You may also wish to join our optional excursion to Montmartre to watch the sidewalk artists and experience the community in which some of the great artists once worked, including Dalí, Picasso, Monet and Van Gogh. Tonight, attend our optional Evening in Paris with dinner at a local restaurant followed by a cruise on the Seine.

Montmartre

Stroll through Montmartre on a walking tour. A renowned artists quarter, Montmartre served as the center of the "Lost Generation" and inspired Ernest Hemingway as he wrote A Moveable Feast. You'll also have time to gaze upon the famous Basilique du Sacré-Cœur. After taking in the sights, stop and enjoy a drink and a crêpe at one of the local cafes.

Take in the nighttime allure of the City of Light on a special evening excursion. The event begins with dinner at a local restaurant. After you dine, board a boat cruise along the Seine. As you coast along the river and under Paris’ bridges, you’ll behold the gloriously illuminated monuments of Paris glittering alongside the riverbanks. Please note: The dress code may vary depending your restaurant, and your Tour Director will advise you on what to wear, but shorts and sneakers are likely to be considered inappropriate attire.

Day 8 - Rome

Transfer to Paris’ airport, where you’ll board your flight to Italy. Touch down in Rome, the Eternal City. The rest of your day is free to explore.

Day 9 - Rome

Spend a free day in Rome however you choose. Take in all the art and architecture that greet the eye at every turn. Stroll across the Spanish Steps, meeting place for all of Rome. See Bernini’s captivating Fountain of the Four Rivers. Stop at the legendary Trevi Fountain, into which centuries of visitors have tossed coins to ensure their eventual return to Rome. You might also wish to join an optional excursion to Vatican City, featuring visits to the Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. Opt to end the day at a Dinner with Tenors, an evening of food and live opera music.

This guided tour takes you inside the world’s smallest state, Vatican City. Upon arrival, you'll first visit the Vatican Museums, which recently celebrated a 500-year anniversary and hold many of the world's most important classical and Renaissance-era sculptures. Next, you'll visit the Sistine Chapel, where you'll gaze on what is perhaps Michelangelo's masterpiece. Finally, you'll visit the enormous St. Peter’s Basilica, the epicenter of the Roman Catholic faith. The artists whose efforts have contributed to its glory are some of the best Italy has ever known, including Bramante, Peruzzi, Raphael and Michelangelo. Treasures await at every turn, from Bernini’s magnificent Scala Regia to Michelangelo’s Pietà. Please note: This excursion is not available on Sunday. Day 10 - Rome

Follow in the footsteps of Caesar during your guided sightseeing tour of Rome. Highlights include a visit to the Colosseum, where 50,000 spectators cheered their favorite gladiators to victory, and a stop at the ruins of the Forum Romanum, from which the Caesars ruled their vast empire. This evening, join an optional excursion into the ancient catacombs, where persecuted Christians once buried their popes and saints, and the Basilica of St. Paul. Enjoy a Farewell dinner with your fellow travelers.

Descend into Rome’s ancient catacombs, where early Christians buried saints and popes alongside commoners. A local guide will lead you through burial chambers before your visit to the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, an ornate monument originally founded by Constantine the Great. Please note: This excursion involves extensive walking and may be inadvisable for claustrophobic travelers.

Day 11 - Rome

If you are not staying for our tour extension in Rome, a Go Ahead representative escorts you to the airport for your return flight home.
