Our Christmas Market departure dates offer the chance to experience an adored German and Austrian tradition. Every year in the weeks leading up to Christmas, the cities and towns are filled with outdoor festivities and stalls decked out for the holidays. Each town square is different from the next, and you’ll have ample free time to enjoy the markets at each destination. Highlights include:

Vienna: The forest of decorated trees at City Hall; the Christmas village at Schönbrunn Palace

Munich: A huge Christmas tree on the Marienplatz (lit by 2,500 candles); the heavenly workshop for children

Heidelberg: The original Heidelberg mulled wine; a giant Advent calendar at City Hall; merry-go-rounds and a crib with live animals
