What travelers say about our Kenya tours

02/25/22 by 12th-time traveler Jan
Kenya did not disappoint! The people we met were so caring and just genuinely nice. They were so patient and happy as well. Seeing all of the animals in their natural environment makes you realize their grandeur. The guides were so informative, teaching us about the landscape, animals and culture.
Kenya Wildlife Safari
Trip of a lifetime
07/30/21 by 2nd-time traveler Debra
What a fabulous time. A very small group and very friendly. Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. He knew what to look for to find all the hidden animals.
Kenya Wildlife Safari
Every Day a New Adventure
09/03/21 by 2nd-time traveler Karen
This was by far the best trip ever. We saw everything you could possibly imagine. Not only a black rhino; but white rhino too. 4 prides of lions & babies everywhere! A leopard and her cub too!
Kenya Wildlife Safari
Exceptional Experience
01/11/19 by 2nd-time traveler Charles
The Tanzania add-on to the Kenya tour was an exceptional experience. Only half of the tour group went on the extension and I would highly recommend it. Kenya and Tanzania were rewarded with awesome sights and some amazing hotels in extremely remote locations. Definitely, the trip dreams are made of.
Kenya Wildlife Safari
A wonderful experience
10/18/19 by 14th-time traveler Pam
Our tour of Kenya and the extension in Tanzania were a terrific experience, even after a dozen GoAhead Tours. We got wonderful pictures and are very intrigued with the Masai tribe and the history of the region. Another win!
Kenya Wildlife Safari
Welcome to Kenya

It was wonderful. I would recommend travelers to take this trip and experience our beautiful world and mother nature's gift.
Kenya Wildlife Safari
True professionals in vacation planning!
7/27/2018 by first-time traveler Diane
Such a value! Every day offered us opportunities to see and do so much with the group, as well as opportunities to tour on our own. Each destination had a city tour with excellent professional, knowledgeable local guides who not only shared their passion for their city but also the cities history.

Travel tips for Kenya tours

What are some interesting things to do on a trip to Kenya?

We can’t talk about Kenya trips without talking about safaris. When you go on our Safari & Wildlife Tours in Kenya, you’ll set off on game drives through lush landscapes to spot the Big Five: leopards, rhinoceroses, Cape buffalos, lions, and elephants.

There’s also a lot more you can do beyond safaris in Kenya. You can visit the Karen Blixen Museum, a century-old farmhouse once owned by the author of Out of Africa, immerse yourself in the culture of the Maasai tribe, and even experience the Coriolis Effect at the equator. Brush up on everything you need to know before traveling to Kenya in our travel guide.

When is the best time of year to visit Kenya?

If you’re planning a trip to Kenya, you may want to go during the dry season, which is from July to October. This is also when the annual migrations happen, so it’s the best time to see spectacular wildlife.

If you decide to take a Kenya tour during another season, there are still unforgettable things to see and experience—from hippos and zebras at watering holes to bustling markets and storied tribal dances. The weather in the summer can be very hot and it gets a little rainy in the winter, so just make sure you pack accordingly.

What animals will I see in Kenya?

You’ll have a chance to see the Big Five: leopards, rhinoceroses, Cape buffalos, lions, and elephants. The goal of every safari-goer is always to find them, but only the luckiest explorers see all five! Most travelers who go on our Kenya group tours see parades of giraffes, ostriches, baboons, and an array of beautiful birds, too.

Our Kenya guided tours also go beyond traditional safaris to visit the flamingos at Lake Nakuru National Park, feed giraffes at the Giraffe Center, and even learn about anti-poaching initiatives with local experts from the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

What should I pack for my Kenya trip?

It really depends on what time of year you visit. However, these are a few items we always recommend you bring:

  • soft, flexible duffel bag that will fit on any safari vehicle
  • Lightweight, conservative clothing in muted colors to blend in with the landscape
  • Comfortable, closed-toed shoes
  • A warm jacket (warmer than you may think you need)
  • A rain jacket, just in case
  • Your camera (yes, a real one) and binoculars
  • Sun protection (a must for all Kenya trips)
  • Reusable cloth bags. Plastic bags are banned in Kenya.

How do I choose which safari tour to go on?

There are so many guided tours to Kenya and beyond. Choosing a safari tour depends on what you want to see and what else you want to do on your trip. Read this article to find out which African safari is right for you.
