• To enter England, U.S. and Canadian citizens need a valid passport with an expiration date extending at least six months beyond the date of reentry. 
• We recommend having at least one blank passport page for entry stamps.

• England operates on 230–240 volts and uses a Type G plug with three large, flat pins. 
• We recommend packing a universal plug adapter, as well as a voltage converter if you plan on using your own hairdryer or any device without one built in.

England’s currency is the pound sterling. If you choose to continue your travels to the Republic of Ireland, you will be using the euro.  

As a relatively small country, you can see a lot of England in just a few days. We recommend you spend at least 5 to 7 days on your trip to England so you can have time to explore its many historical sites, charming villages, and natural beauty.

• Take a scenic drive through the Cotswolds. The English countryside features painterly scenes that are loved by artists and frequently immortalized on canvas and film.
• Glide through London’s skyline. The London Eye rises 450 feet above the River Thames—the world’s fourth-tallest observation wheel. Settle into an enclosed gondola for a 30-minute ride and view the city below. (In clear weather, the panorama stretches for 25 miles.)

Despite being farther north than much of North America, England has a temperate climate—which means tours of England are enjoyable most any time of year. But when is the best time to visit England? Spring and fall offer pleasant weather and fewer crowds at the most popular sites, making the off-season a perfect time to visit England. Winter, too, offers plenty of charm—despite the cold temps—with Christmas markets happening in London and around the country.
