Amsterdam6 nights
Day 2: Arrival in Amsterdam
Included meal: Welcome dinner
Welcome to the Netherlands! Settle in at your hotel, then get to know your Tour Director and fellow travelers as a group during an included dinner, served with beer or wine.
Day 3: Sightseeing tour of Amsterdam & stroopwafel workshop
Included meals: Breakfast, Tasting
Begin your day with a visit to one of Amsterdam’s most profound and moving landmarks: the Anne Frank House. Step inside for a timed-entry visit that offers a deeply personal window into life during the Second World War. Ascend the concealed passageway behind the famous bookcase into the Secret Annex, where Anne Frank and her family hid for more than two years—an experience that is as sobering as it is unforgettable.
Afterward, join a local guide and take to the waters of Amsterdam’s iconic grachten, or canals—a UNESCO World Heritage Site that crisscrosses the city for more than 60 miles—for your first proper look at the Venice of the North.
- Survey Amsterdam’s past and present as you cruise by the Dutch National Opera & Ballet and beneath the Magere Brug—the famous “Skinny Bridge” that spans the Amstel River.
- Float by the Jodenbuurt, the former Jewish Quarter, and reflect on the city’s long association with Jewish culture.
- See the Dancing Houses, cockeyed structures painted in flashes of vibrant color, and keep an eye out for flower bikes. More than 300 of these bloom-bedecked bikes can be found around the city, decorated and placed by an American expat known simply as “the Flower Bike Man.”
- Disembark your cruise near the Rijksmuseum, the national art collection populated with the works of Dutch masters like Vermeer, Van Gogh, and Rembrandt. (If you choose, you can spend time with the museum’s exhibits tomorrow.)
Later, board a bus and make your way to an Amsterdam institution: the stroopwafel workshop. You’ll spend time learning the art behind this beloved Dutch treat—thin waffle layers pressed together with a warm caramel filling—before getting creative with a selection of toppings to personalize your own creation. The best part? You get to eat it when you’re done!
As evening falls, the city is yours to discover at your own pace—or, if you’d like to see Amsterdam from the water one more time, consider adding tonight’s optional wine and cheese canal cruise. It’s a relaxed and indulgent way to cap your first full day in the Dutch capital.
Please note: The activities of days 3 and 4 may be swapped based on the timed entry to the Anne Frank House. Additionally, travelers must feel comfortable climbing up and down a series of steep staircases in order to enter the Secret Annex.
Day 4: ❇️ Rijksmuseum or Amsterdam food walking tour
Included meal: Breakfast
❇️ Your morning in Amsterdam begins with one of these two included experiences:
- Best for art lovers: Rijksmuseum. See masterworks by Rembrandt and Vermeer—including the iconic “Night Watch”—as an audio guide leads you through centuries of Dutch artistry at your own pace.
- Best for food lovers: Amsterdam food walking tour. Join a local guide for more than 10 tastings of local specialties, like Dutch fries and artisanal Gouda, in the city’s liveliest neighborhood.
With your morning’s adventure behind you, the rest of the day is entirely your own. Pedal along canalside paths, browse the vintage shops of the Jordaan neighborhood, or pull up a chair at a waterside cafe and let Amsterdam come to you.
Please note: The activities of days 3 and 4 may be swapped based on the timed entry to the Anne Frank House.
Additionally, choose your experience gives you the freedom to personalize your city experience by selecting one guided sightseeing activity from two available options—both included in your tour price. Both activities occur simultaneously, so you will need to choose just one. You can make your selection at the time of booking or any time up to 20 days before your tour departure. We encourage you to choose early, as some activities have limited availability and fill up on a first-come, first-served basis—your spot is not guaranteed until you’ve enrolled.
Day 5: Free day in Amsterdam
Included meal: Breakfast
Today is yours to spend as you please—and if you’re looking to venture beyond the city, our optional excursion is the perfect way to do it. Step back in time at Zaanse Schans, an open-air museum village where working windmills, wooden clog workshops, and traditional Dutch architecture paint a picture of life in the Netherlands centuries ago. During springtime, you might even spot fields of tulips. From there, continue to the charming fishing villages of Volendam and Marken, where colorful harbors, cobblestone lanes, and locals still dressed in traditional attire make for an afternoon straight out of a Dutch postcard.
Prefer to keep it local? Make your way to the Van Gogh Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of the Dutch master’s works. Or, if you’re after something a little more serene, wander through the Hortus Botanicus, one of the world’s oldest botanical gardens.
Day 6: Aalsmeer Flower Auction & Keukenhof Gardens
Included meal: Breakfast
Few places on earth put nature’s artistry on fuller display than the Netherlands during tulip season—and today, you’ll witness that spectacle from two of its most iconic stages. From the staggering scale of the global flower trade to the curated beauty of one of the world’s most celebrated gardens, this is a day that blooms at every turn.
- Step inside the Aalsmeer Flower Auction, the largest flower market on the planet, where more than 40 million flowers and plants change hands every single day.
- Watch the choreographed chaos of the trading floor unfold beneath you—a blur of color, movement, and commerce that keeps florists from Amsterdam to Tokyo stocked with bouquets.
- Continue to Keukenhof Gardens, lovingly referred to as the Garden of Europe, where your Tour Director will set the scene with an introduction to the grounds before giving you time to explore at your own pace.
- Wander through the gardens’ winding pathways, flanked by tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths in every shade imaginable.
Day 7: Free day in Amsterdam & farewell dinner in the Negen Straatjes neighborhood
Included meals: Breakfast, Farewell dinner
Your last full day in Amsterdam is yours to savor at your own pace—and what better way to spend it than on a classically Dutch outing? Opt into today’s bike ride excursion through the countryside, where windmills, canals, and charming villages straight out of a Golden Age painting await. Expect an especially lovely scene with flowering buds and trees painting the landscape.
If you’d rather spend the day on your own, Amsterdam has plenty left to offer. Revisit a favorite neighborhood, duck into a shop you walked past earlier in the week, or find a sunny canalside bench and let the city wash over you one last time.
As evening falls, rejoin your groupmates for a fitting send-off. En route to dinner, pause among the colorful row houses of the Negen Straatjes—the UNESCO-listed “Nine Streets” that date to the Dutch Golden Age. Take in the sight of canals and bridges illuminated against the night sky, then settle into a private space at a nearby restaurant for a farewell dinner and drinks centered on classic Dutch cuisine.

Day 8: Brussels via Antwerp
Included meal: Breakfast
Today, you’ll bid farewell to the Netherlands and cross the border into Belgium, but not before making a worthwhile stop in Antwerp. Long a powerhouse of trade and art, Antwerp rewards even a brief visit with its striking medieval architecture and eclectic cafe culture.
From Antwerp, continue south to Brussels, Belgium’s vibrant, multilingual capital and the unofficial heart of modern Europe. By the time you arrive, the evening is yours to ease into at your own pace. Find a seat at a sidewalk cafe, track down a cone of the city’s legendary frites, or wander the lamplit streets and get your bearings before tomorrow’s full day of sightseeing.
Day 9: Sightseeing tour of Brussels
Included meals: Breakfast, Tasting
Brussels has a way of surprising even the most seasoned traveler. Expect grand boulevards to give way to medieval squares, and world-class museums that sit steps from some of Europe’s finest chocolatiers. Today, a local guide pulls back the curtain on it all, starting from the window of your coach before taking to the cobblestones on foot.
- Glide past the Atomium, Brussels’ eccentric landmark, a gleaming steel structure built for the 1958 World’s Fair.
- Take in the twin-towered St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture that has watched over the city since the 13th century, as well as the stately Royal Palace, the official residence of the Belgian monarch.
- Roll through the museum district and past the elegant Sablon neighborhood, home to the Church of Our Blessed Lady of the Sablon and the city’s renowned antique dealers and chocolate shops.
- Pass the Great Synagogue of Europe, one of the most significant Jewish landmarks on the continent, and the imposing Palace of Justice before stepping out for a brief stop at the sweeping Jubilee Park.
- Transition to a walking tour through Brussels’ historic center, culminating at the Grand Place—Grote Markt—one of the most breathtaking medieval squares in all of Europe. Here, ornate guildhouses and the gilded town hall frame a space that UNESCO has recognized as a World Heritage Site.
- Visit a local chocolatier for a tasting that puts Belgium’s most famous export front and center. With hundreds of chocolate makers calling Brussels home, consider this a very delicious introduction.
With your guided tour wrapped up, the afternoon is yours. Browse the Grand Place at your own pace and make sure to track down a proper Belgian waffle with all the trimmings.
Day 10: Free day in Brussels
Included meal: Breakfast
Your last full day on tour is yours to spend however you see fit. Make the most of it by adding on today’s optional day trip to Bruges. This remarkably preserved medieval city combines cobblestone lanes, centuries-old guildhouses, mirrorlike canals, and one postcard-worthy scene after another.
If you’d prefer to linger in Brussels, the city has plenty left to give. Wander the boutiques and antique dealers of the Sablon district, seek out a tucked-away brasserie for a long lunch paired with one of Belgium’s world-renowned abbey beers, or make your way to the Comic Art Museum, a fitting tribute to a country that gave the world “Tintin” and “The Smurfs”.
Finally, come together as a group one last time for a farewell drink and toast to a trip well spent.
