My favorite place: Ramen Momo in Reykjavik, Iceland

Apr 28, 2020 by Jamie Burke

My coworker Paula and I discovered this little restaurant while we were on tour together in Iceland a few years back. Not only did they make amazing ramen and momo (Tibetan dumplings), but the chef was such a nice guy and we all chatted as we ate. Turns out, he’d moved to Iceland from New Zealand, and he had a friend from Tibet who worked in a restaurant near my house here in Cambridge. It was everything I love about travel—great food, meeting new people, cultural exchange, and crazy serendipitous coincidences that make the world feel a little more connected. I still follow their Instagram and hope I can get back for more ramen someday!

We created Tiny Escapes to help bring joy to your day in these unprecedented times. Follow us here or on Instagram and Facebook and tag #tinyescapes to share your favorite little distractions.
