Introducing: Go Ahead Food & Wine Tours

Jul 16, 2014 by The Go Ahead Tours Team

A country’s culinary traditions reveal much more than what’s on the dinner table—recipes, customs and cooking methods all tell the history of the region and the people who live there. With this in mind, we’re happy to announce some exciting new additions to our Food & Wine Tour portfolio!

Based on positive feedback for our Food & Wine Tours in Tuscany and Umbria, Northern Italy and France, we’ve developed four completely new itineraries and also revamped our Food & Wine: France though Burgundy and Champagne tour.

Each of our Food & Wine Tours includes opportunities to taste local culture, along with guided sightseeing of must-visit areas and local insight into the best of each destination. Here’s what you should know about these delicious new itineraries:

Food & Wine: Southern Italy & Sicily

Food & Wine: France through Burgundy & Champagne

French cuisine

Burgundy and Champagne are arguably the biggest names in French wines. Local menus pay tribute by offering hearty dishes to pair with a big, bold red or lighter game to complement a sparkling white. Learn more

Food & Wine: France through Bordeaux & the Loire Valley

The lush forests, sweeping valleys and verdant fields of western France are home to quaint country towns and stately cities. Bordeaux may be the king of wines, but insiders know that the varietals produced in Dordogne and the Loire Valley are well worth a taste (or two). Learn more

Food & Wine: A Taste of Spain

Northern Spain is a culinary wonderland worth exploring. Barcelona is home to tapas-covered tables and Gaudí’s most famous works, while San Sebastian boasts world-renowned restaurants and serene coastal scenery. Meanwhile, the center of the peninsula enjoys a climate perfectly suited to producing high-quality wines. Learn more

Food & Wine: Beers of Belgium & Germany
